Overview

We are seeking an API Solution Designer to join the central API team. This team is responsible for assisting development teams in building and maintaining standardized APIs, reusable frameworks, and solutions for delivering APIs at scale. These solutions are backed by a Data Platform using modern development frameworks like .NET, but can also run on legacy source systems. The API team's role is pivotal in ensuring that APIs are robust, scalable, and aligned with the organization's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

As an API Solution Designer, you will:

• Evangelize API frameworks by defining reference APIs, testing frameworks, and DevOps strategies.
• Design and develop scalable, resilient, and high-performance APIs for internal and external use.
• Collaborate with architects to define reference architecture.
• Support app teams using the reference API to develop their own APIs at scale, incorporating lessons learned.
• Ensure security & authentication of reference APIs is robust.
• Integrate APIs by collaborating with development teams.
• Gather API requirements by working closely with API team colleagues responsible for platforms.
• Maintain documentation and actively contribute to API documentation efforts.
• Manage API demand by maintaining a master list and liaising with different teams for future API requirements.

Required Technical Skills

• 5+ years of API architecture experience
• Senior-level .NET development experience
• Proficiency in .NET 8+
• Expertise in Docker / Kubernetes
• Knowledge of Azure Cloud Services
• Experience with Git, CI/CD platforms, and Jira

• Clear and structured documentation skills
• Ability to work at least 2 days per week onsite (Brussels)
