Central Bank of Oman is seeking to recruit competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic Omani candidate to work as Product Specialist – Domestic Card Scheme.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and the DCS product strategy and roadmap.
- Lead market research and needs assessment for product innovation.
- Manage the full product lifecycle: ideation, development, launch and ongoing improvements.
- Define pricing models, incentives and promotional strategies to drive adoption.
- Collaborate closely with banks, PSPs, merchants, technology providers and regulators.
- Ensure DCS products comply with EMV standards, PCI DSS, and CBO regulations.
- Analyze product performance against KPIs and recommend improvements.
- Deliver clear, accurate and timely reports to senior management.
- Manage payment product budgets and financial performance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors and partners.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
- Stay abreast of industry developments and best practices in product management and secure development lifecycle.
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of card payment ecosystems (issuance, acquiring, tokenization).
- Strong understanding of EMV standards, mobile payments, NFC, and payment gateways.
- Strategic thinking and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Strong project management and financial analysis abilities.
Technical Competencies:
- EMV Expertise (Contact/Contactless specifications)
- Mobile and Digital Payment Knowledge (Tokenization, Mobile Wallets, NFC, QR-based payments)
- Product Pricing & Profitability Modeling
- Payment Systems Operations (e.g., Switching, Clearing, Settlement including OmanNet infrastructure)
- Payment Standards (EMV, PCI DSS, ISO 8583, ISO 20022)
- Fraud Risk Management (Fraud prevention strategies and transaction monitoring)
- Business Continuity Planning (BCP/DR for critical payment infrastructures)
- Project Management (PMP certification or equivalent preferred)
- Digital Transformation (Knowledge of emerging digital trends impacting card payments)
- Systems Testing (Functional and non-functional testing, certification processes)
- Business Systems and Applications (Understanding of banking/payment IT environments)
- Design Thinking (User-centric product and service design approach)
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's in information technology/ information systems/business administration/E-Business Management
Minimum 7 years of experience in card schemes, banks, or payment service providers (PSPs) managing card products.
