We are seeking a highly creative and strategically minded Senior Art Director & Designer to join our dynamic team, focusing on projects for the US market. As a Senior Art Director & Designer, you will be responsible for leading the visual direction of digital projects, from initial concept to final execution. You will be a driving force in developing creative strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that all designs align with brand objectives and resonate with our target audience. This role requires a strong understanding of digital marketing trends, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Execution: Create visually compelling designs for digital channels, including but not limited to social media posts, banners, email templates, landing pages, and other marketing collateral.
- Conceptual Development & Art Direction: Contribute creative ideas and approaches for campaigns and brand content, going beyond execution to provide fresh perspectives and innovative solutions and defining the overall visual style and tone for projects, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and strategic objectives.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work alongside planners, copywriters, and other team members to understand brand goals, target audiences, and strategic objectives, ensuring all deliverables are aligned with broader marketing strategies.
- Storyboarding: Co-develop storyboards for video content in partnership with copywriters, and coordinate with animators to bring concepts to life.
- Brand Stewardship: Ensure all designs adhere to established brand guidelines and maintain consistency across all touchpoints.
- Feedback & Iteration: Present design concepts to internal stakeholders, gather feedback, and iterate quickly to meet project deadlines.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and communicating progress effectively to team leads and stakeholders.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Digital Designer, preferably within an agency or fast-paced in-house environment.
- Proven experience in conceptualizing and art directing digital campaigns.
- Advanced proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.), and other relevant software.
- Exceptional portfolio showcasing a range of digital design work, demonstrating both conceptual thinking and strong design execution.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver polished, high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including copywriters, planners, and animators.
- Bilingual English is mandatory; fluency in both written and spoken English is required, as you will be working with teams based in South Africa and the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience designing for the US market.
- Familiarity with current trends in digital marketing, social media, and UI/UX best practices.
- Experience working with remote, multicultural teams
