Java Developer for wealth management solutions at a private bank in Geneva

Java Developer with experience in banking and wealth management – Geneva, Switzerland

Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) | Fluent French required | EU nationals only

About the role

Our client, a well-established private bank in Geneva, is looking for an experienced Java Developer to join their Productivity Service team. In this role, you will work on internal applications within the wealth management domain, combining Java development with functional analysis and solution delivery. The position involves direct collaboration with business stakeholders and IT architects, and offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale, client-facing projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional analysis for projects related to evolution and maintenance within the Workflows domain
• Gather and analyse business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Develop Java-based applications using Spring Boot and Hibernate
• Define and execute functional test cases to validate proposed solutions
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and change management activities
• Document and manage production incidents and user support requests
• Collaborate with solution and enterprise architects to ensure alignment with architectural vision
• Participate in the rollout of solutions across multiple countries using FNZ Studio
• Work within an Agile team and contribute to Scrum ceremonies

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT, with a strong background in banking and wealth management
• Proven experience in Java application development
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST services, and SQL
• Experience with Agile methodologies and working in Scrum teams
• Fluent in both French and English, written and spoken
• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement
• Completion of FNZ Full Developer training before joining the team (certification required shortly after onboarding)
• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Must be based in Switzerland or willing to relocate
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently within a collaborative team environment

Would be a plus

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Puppet, and Bamboo
• Familiarity with FNZ Studio and previous experience with multinational rollouts
• Prior work in client-facing roles within banking or financial services
• Exposure to infrastructure and integration aspects of system delivery
• Experience supporting large-scale Agile transformation projects
