Responsible for undertaking development activities required to deliver IT solutions that meet business needs. Estimates and carries out systems development work to time, budget, and quality targets and in accordance with appropriate standards. Resolves technical development issues that may arise during the full development lifecycle.


Major Accountabilities


Strategy Execution and Customer


  • Completes development deliverables in a timely manner and to the appropriate level of quality so that the delivered solutions are fit-for-purpose, can be efficiently supported, and the impact of future change requests can be assessed.
  • Works with IT, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure that technology solutions are delivered on time, on schedule, and on budget.
  • Collaborates with project teams to provide estimations.
  • Works across IT to assess system requirements and specifications, identifying and addressing any potential issues prior to implementation.
  • Designs technical solutions for assigned technology projects.
  • Assists and supports testing activities (e.g., System, Integration, and User Acceptance).
  • Creates and updates application documentation to support efficient maintenance and future enhancements.
  • Follows change control procedures and applies version control and configuration management to maintain production service stability.
  • Provides progress reporting on development projects and handles exceptions and issues in a timely manner, escalating where necessary.
  • Maintains awareness of system security processes and compliance procedures.
  • Contributes to post-implementation reviews to support continuous improvement.
  • Keeps up to date with industry trends and technologies relevant to the organisation’s platforms.
  • Ensures all activities adhere to current Information Security standards.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of customer needs and helps support delivery of customer experience goals.


Mandatory Skills Required


  • Kubernetes (experience with GKE specifically) & Helm
  • Google Cloud Platform (basic knowledge of GCS, KMS)
  • Docker (for image builds)
  • CI/CD pipeline development (GitLab preferred; experience with Jenkins, Harness, ArgoCD also acceptable)
  • Scripting (Python, Bash)
  • Artifact management tools (Nexus, Artifactory, or similar)
  • Source code management (GitLab, GitHub)
  • Basic Java skills


Nice to Have


  • Experience with Confluent and Kafka Connect framework
