API Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement APIs that support efficient exchange and access of geospatial data.
• Adhere to API development standards established by Geonovum.
• Provide mentorship to junior developers, offering technical direction and support.
• Ensure APIs follow best practices in security, user authentication, and overall robustness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance system architecture and improve geodata accessibility.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining APIs.
• Background in geospatial technologies is highly desirable.
• Experience with GeoServer, WMS/WFS, Tomcat, and Java is considered an asset.
• Understanding of geospatial data platforms such as geo.be or geopunt.be.
• Strong knowledge of API security, access control mechanisms, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in either Dutch or French (fluency in both is a plus).
