Position OverviewConnect44 is seeking an Jr IP Backhaul Engineer to join our team in Bucharest on a permanent basis.

Description
IP Engineering team are responsible for network backhaul transmission delivery in the Radio Access Network connecting all cell sites to the nearest core switch using fibre, microwave, or satellite backhaul products.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
The role will report to the customers IP Engineering Manager. The IP engineers are responsible for delivering IP transmission to all cell sites in the Radio Access Network.
The I.P Engineer will be responsible for delivering IP configurations in one of 2 x RAN vendor areas. (specifically, Ericsson or Nokia).
Delivering transmission connectivity from cell site to the core network. Ensuring that IP configuration is 100% aligned to the customers radio demand/configuration designs.
Helping to drive down data discrepancies in the customers planning databases, making sure backhaul orders are validated against existing network configuration.
Supporting the ceasing of redundant legacy transport configuration/site decommissioning.
Supporting the team to implement the IP engineering processes to configure any transmission product to new IP capable solutions with minimal impact to the customer.
Understand new radio and transport design rules, interpret them and introduce new capability within the team as well as initiating development requirements in the customers tool sets to deliver new capability and maximising automation possibilities.
Report weekly against the delivery across all projects to the IP Engineering Manager. Highlighting any risk, issues and dependencies.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, Or Experience
Fully competent in the use of transmission planning tools.
Knowledge of radio access transmission requirements for Nokia and Ericsson sites.
Fully competent with IP transmission networks, and an understanding of legacy TDM networks.
Analyse data, draw meaningful conclusions and understand commercial impact to the customer of radio access transport plans with regard to cost reduction.
High levels of computer literacy including all MS office applications
Educated to Degree level or equivalent is desirable
Certification in IP networking
Work well within a team environment supporting other members.
Minimum of two years’ experience in a transmission a planning role
