Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager - Settlement to oversee and develop our settlement products, ensuring efficient, compliant, and scalable transaction settlement processes. This role will be pivotal in shaping the company's financial product offerings, particularly those focused on the timely and accurate clearing and settlement of transactions. The Product Manager - Settlement will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, finance, and compliance, to enhance our financial settlement products and streamline workflows for efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Development

• Develop and own the roadmap for settlement products, aligning it with overall business strategy and regulatory requirements.
• Drive the design, development, and implementation of new settlement features and improvements.
• Stay up-to-date with trends in financial settlements, clearing systems, payment processing, and regulatory changes.

Operational Optimization

• Analyze existing settlement processes, identifying areas for optimization and automation.
• Work closely with finance and operations teams to streamline processes and enhance reconciliation accuracy.
• Ensure effective integration of settlement functionalities with accounting, payment, and compliance systems.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with internal stakeholders (engineering, finance, compliance, and risk management) to understand and implement settlement product requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for settlement-related projects, delivering clear and consistent communication across teams.
• Gather and prioritize requirements from internal and external customers to refine product features and capabilities.

Data and Performance Analysis

• Use data analytics to monitor settlement transaction flows, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
• Develop KPIs and metrics to track the effectiveness of settlement processes and present insights to leadership.

Risk and Compliance

• Ensure that settlement processes comply with applicable regulatory and industry standards.
• Work with the compliance and legal teams to incorporate regulatory requirements into product development.
• Identify and address potential risks in the settlement process, including fraud prevention, financial reporting, and operational risks.

Product Documentation and Training

• Create and maintain product documentation, including requirements, user guides, and training materials.
• Provide training and support to operations teams to ensure smooth adoption of new settlement features and tools.

Key Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years focused on settlement or financial operations within a fintech or financial institution.
• Strong understanding of payment processing, settlement workflows, and clearing systems.
• Proven experience working on settlement systems, payment gateways, or financial reconciliation processes.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools, including SQL, Excel, and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Familiarity with settlement systems, reconciliation software, and accounting software is a plus.
• Experience with Agile and Lean product management methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a data-driven and detail-oriented approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
• High degree of adaptability and comfort in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
