Data Governance Expert

• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external data regulations.
• Align security practices with business and privacy needs.
• Collaborate with teams to protect PHI and oversee identity management.
• Identify data gaps and recommend collection efforts.
• Develop and manage policies for PHI/PII protection and data security.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and monitor compliance.
• Maintain data standards and validate database accuracy.
• Generate reports to spot trends and improve performance.
• Promote consistent data practices across departments.
• Support IT with data updates and templates.
• Mitigate data risks and update protection frameworks.
• Foster a culture of privacy and compliance.
• Implement governance aligned with local laws.
• Review projects for data privacy adherence.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field, with ongoing education or certifications in data privacy
• 15+ years in data privacy, protection compliance, or related roles
• Strong grasp of global and local data privacy laws and cybersecurity frameworks
• Familiar with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure
• Preferred certifications: CIPP, CDPSE, or equivalent
• Knowledge of standards like ISO 2700x/27701/27018, NIST, CIS, etc
• Healthcare industry experience is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data governance tools (Microsoft Purview preferred)
• Technically skilled in data discovery and privacy tools
