Client is in progress of developing an end-to-end (or as we call it at GlobalLogic chip-to-cloud) innovative automotive telematics solution. So far the effort was focused on embedded in-vehicle telematics control unit.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
• Strong expertise in AWS services including (but not limited to): Amplify, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Proven experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, CircleCI, or similar.
• Proficient in infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK Stack, Prometheus/Grafana).
• Solid understanding of web application architecture (esp. React/TypeScript frontends and Node.js backends).
• Familiarity with Amplify CLI and console, including configuring hosting, authentication (Cognito), APIs (GraphQL/REST), and CI/CD.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, ECS, EKS) is a plus.
  
  
  

Job responsibilities

CI/CD & Automation

• Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, CodePipeline) for both frontend and backend codebases.
• Automate build, test, and deployment processes for React/TypeScript frontend and Node.js backend applications.
• Ensure zero-downtime deployments and rollback strategies for production and staging environments.
  
  
  

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Define and manage AWS infrastructure using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Maintain and evolve Amplify-based configurations for frontend deployment, authentication, hosting, and API integrations.
  
  
  

Cloud Infrastructure Management (AWS)

• Configure and manage AWS services including Amplify, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Monitor, log, and optimize performance, availability, and cost-efficiency of all cloud resources.
  
  
  

Security & Compliance

• Implement secure access controls using IAM roles and policies.
• Ensure secure handling of environment variables, secrets, and credentials using services like AWS Secrets Manager or SSM Parameter Store.
• Monitor and apply best practices for data security and compliance with standards such as SOC2 or GDPR, as applicable.
  
  
  

Collaboration & Support

• Collaborate closely with frontend/backend engineers to define deployment strategies and resolve environment-related issues.
• Mentor junior DevOps engineers and contribute to cross-functional architectural decisions.
• Support developers with tools and documentation to enable faster, more reliable development and deployment cycles.
  
  
  

Monitoring & Incident Response

• Set up and maintain application monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar.
• Lead incident management, postmortem analysis, and implement preventive measures.
  
  
  

Tooling & Process Improvements

• Evaluate and integrate tools to improve observability, performance, and developer productivity.
• Drive DevOps best practices and contribute to evolving the SDLC (software development lifecycle) processes.
