Cloud Operations Site Reliability Engineer- English & German Speaking

A British multinational enterprise software company is looking to hire an English & German speaking Cloud Operations Site Reliability Engineer.

Candidate MUST have full right to work in Austria as company support with sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities:

• Own initiatives aimed at improving processes and systems related to OS and cloud instance validation, performance optimization, core network/VPC design etc
• Design, scale, and secure infrastructure to stay ahead of business needs through fault-tolerant architecture design, performance testing, profiling, and tuning, and capacity planning
• Ensure products remain available, secure, performant; all components are highly scalable and maintainable
• Work closely with product delivery teams, influencing their approach and design.
• Drive innovation and automation
• Understand Cloud Operations from a customer perspective .
• Own features, components and tooling being built
• Partner with other engineers to troubleshoot problems with our technology, and provide an excellent customer experience

Must haves:

• Fluent in both- English & German (will interact with German and British teams a lot).
• Background experience of the DevOps environment
• Prior experience designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Previous experience with logging and application monitoring systems such as CloudWatch, New Relic, Sumo and Splunk.
• Used metrics systems (e.g. Elastic Stack, Graphite, Prometheus, Influx) effectively to diagnose issues and quantify impacts.
• Ability to debug, optimize code and automate routine tasks.
• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive.

Nice to have:experience in cloud technologies (MS Azure/ AWS), interest in SRE topics like SLOs, resilience, scaling, performance.

Some experience in networking, operational resiliency, failover & data recovery, configuration & infrastructure management systems, ideally with AWS or Azure.

This is a permanent direct hire opportunity (B2B contract is not available)

Role is hybrid- 2/3 days a week in office Vienna

Salary goes up to €80,000 annually DOE
