Freelance AI Expert – Energy Industry

18 Month Contract

Brussels (Hybrid or Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced freelance AI Expert with 5+ years of hands-on experience in AI and machine learning to support our Research and Development (R&D) initiatives in the energy sector. The ideal candidate will lead the development of intelligent AI Agents aimed at optimizing operations, enhancing decision-making, and driving innovation across energy-related use cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define specifications for AI Agents in collaboration with data scientists, engineers, and energy domain experts.
• Design, develop, and deploy AI Agents using agentic frameworks, incorporating both real-time and historical data from energy systems and platforms.
• Ensure scalability, performance, and robustness of AI-driven solutions in real-world environments.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years in AI/ML development, with a proven track record of delivering production-ready solutions.
• Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced Python programming and expertise in AI/ML libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong knowledge of AI techniques, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), reinforcement learning, and agent-based systems.
• Familiarity with data challenges and use cases in the energy industry (e.g., predictive maintenance, load forecasting, anomaly detection) is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms, containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and collaborative development using Git.
• Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently while contributing effectively to remote, cross-functional teams.
