Role Description

As a Software-Oriented Support Engineer, you’ll be the crucial link between our customers and our internally developed software platform. You’ll provide technical support, investigate and resolve issues, and collaborate closely with our development and product teams. Because our platform is built entirely in-house, your feedback will have a direct impact. You’ll also take part in testing and evaluating new technologies to keep our systems modern and resilient.

This is a highly collaborative role — we’re looking for someone who thrives in a team-oriented environment, values open communication, and enjoys solving problems together with others.

Qualifications

• Software Support, Software Development, and Technical Support skills
• Troubleshooting skills
• Customer Service skills
• Experience in the energy sector is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Your Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-line technical support for FIRN’s software solutions (web platforms, APIs, and IoT integrations).
• Analyze logs, investigate platform behavior, and assist in root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and fellow engineers to solve issues and improve the platform.
• Create and maintain documentation and knowledge base content.
• Participate in testing, deployment, and monitoring of software updates.
• Actively test and evaluate new technologies, tools, and methods to strengthen platform performance and reliability.
• Contribute to internal tooling and monitoring improvements.
• Help customers maximize the value of FIRN’s software solutions.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical support or DevOps-focused role.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SQL, Linux, and log analysis tools (e.g., Kibana, Grafana).
• Eager to learn, experiment, and work with new technologies.
• Team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in Agile environments with tools like Jira and GitLab.
• Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English.
