In this role you work closely together with our Delivery Director and Factory Manager. You are a dynamic professional with a passion for IT and delivering high quality project management skills together with your team members

What will your job look like?

• Manage large legacy system migration projects for international companies (FTSE 500) who seek to migrate core applications from a mainframe platform to open systems.
• Manage a large team of migration experts from Astadia and from subcontractors, who work in close cooperation with the customer or partner and understand that the use tools to automate processes is key to the success of the project.
• End responsibility for deliverables and risks (including scope and time changes), in close cooperation with a project team involving:
• The overall project manager appointed by the customer or partner
• The technical manager and tool developers appointed by Astadia
• Quality assurance and documentation throughout projects which may take over a year.
• Ensure a team-based effort of several individuals while being on-site at the prospective customer and/or at Astadia premises in Kontich.
  

All you need is...

• 10 years of relevant managerial experience in the field of IT, during which you were ideally exposed to a range of development technologies and platforms (such as IBM mainframe and/or Linux and/or Windows)
• You hold a degree in ICT or Computer Science or have a similar relevant experience.
• You are customer minded but can be strict if need be.
• You have project management experience, preferably supported by professional or academic certification (such as Prince 2 or PMBOK).
• You are eager to learn and manage new things.
• You have an excellent knowledge of English while other languages (French, German, Spanish, Dutch) are an important asset.
• Ability to travel frequently as needed by the company.
• As a legacy migration project is fundamentally different from a development project or package implementation, prior experience with such project is a key asset / bonus as well.
