Are you interested in using the latest technologies to help restaurants build amazing relationships with their guests? As a Frontend Software Engineer II you will be helping to create the next generation of our Marketing Suite. The Marketing Suite contains a wide range of products including a Loyalty Program, Gift Cards, Guest Feedback management and both Email & SMS communications. Your mission would be to build the next generation of the Marketing Suite and help restaurants make smart decisions and be successful.

As a Software Engineer on the Marketing team, you could be working on:

Enhancing our Loyalty Program with new ways for restaurants to engage with their guests

Building a Marketing Automation Platform

Building AI capabilities into our Marketing Suite

Building the next generation of our marketing channels (Email, SMS, Social)

Building a reputation management system

Do you have the right ingredients*?

3+ years working in an object oriented language or modern Javascript framework (angular/react)

Experience with distributed architecture and single page applications

Proven ability to work across multiple teams by effectively communicating and collaborating with stakeholders

Passionate about building great software and shipping it frequently to iterate based on learnings from data and customer feedback

A focus on helping customers succeed

Some of things we would be really excited to see

Experience in building marketing automation, CMS or CRM products

Experience in SaaS growth methodology

Experience with Payments or Loyalty systems

Our Tech Stack

Our products run on a stack that ranges from guest and restaurant-facing Android tablets to backend services in Java to internal, guest-facing and restaurant-facing web apps. Our backend services follow a microservice architecture written using Java & Kotlin and DropWizard; we use AWS extensively, ranging from S3 to RDS to DynamoDB to Lambda. We have our own platform for dealing with service elevations and robust load balancing. We store data in PostgreSQL databases or DynamoDB tables depending on use case, and utilize Apache Spark for large scale data workloads including query and batch processing. The web frontend is built using React and ES6. Our main point of sale application is an Android application written in Java and Kotlin. Apache Pulsar and Camel are used extensively in our integration transaction workflow processing. For communication between tablets and our cloud platform, we utilize RabbitMQ clusters as well as direct API communication to our HTTP backend.
