Job Description:
Our client, a large organisation within the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced Java Oracle Developer for a 6–12 month day rate contract. The role is based in Dublin with a hybrid working arrangement.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy high-quality Java applications integrated with Oracle PL/SQL databases.
- Collaborate with business analysts and technical teams to understand business requirements and translate them into robust software solutions.
- Enhance existing systems by identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices in development and performance tuning.
- Ensure effective integration of application components and maintain consistent data flow across systems.
- Write and maintain technical documentation including design specifications and release notes.
- Perform system troubleshooting and problem resolution across application domains.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain adherence to development standards and security protocols.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Java development, with a strong focus on Oracle PL/SQL.
- Proven expertise in full software development lifecycle within enterprise environments.
- Demonstrable experience working on integration and data-intensive applications.
- Ability to operate effectively in hybrid environments and contribute independently as well as part of a wider delivery team.
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to Spring Framework, RESTful APIs, and Oracle performance tuning.
- Experience within financial services or highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Prior experience with job scheduling tools and automation frameworks.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognised third-level institution.
