Your Role:

You will primarily develop software/firmware (in C) for new and innovative analysis equipment. Working closely with the hardware, your code will breathe life into our machines. There is ample room for implementing your own ideas. Affinity with hardware is crucial, as you will work very closely with it and may even need to develop some hardware components. We offer you the freedom to explore other technical interests.

You will work in a small and friendly team with extensive knowledge. You are expected to take the initiative in collaboration and to propose solutions to the challenges you encounter.

Together with your colleagues, you will work on the latest technologies to create innovative equipment. There is a wealth of knowledge from your colleagues to help you advance to a new level. You will experience the entire development cycle of your product, from concept to market launch and field support.

 

Responsibilities:

· Develop and maintain embedded firmware in C for our analytical instruments.

· Collaborate with colleagues to design and integrate hardware components.

· Conduct testing and debugging of both firmware and hardware to ensure seamless operation.

· Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to incorporate them into our products.

· Work independently and manage your tasks efficiently to meet project deadlines.

 

Requirements:

· A completed degree in Electrical Engineering or a higher professional education level with a strong passion for electronics.

· Demonstrated affinity with both hardware and software in the field of Embedded systems, especially in C programming.

· Strong independent work ethic with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.

· Proficiency in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or German is an advantage.

· Good understanding of version control and Git (using GitHub)

· Experience using lab tools, such as an oscilloscope and logic analyser

 

Preferred Experience:

While we believe a good engineer can master any technology, experience with the following is advantageous:

· STM32 microcontrollers using STM32CUBE

· ESP32 using ESP-IDF SDK

· Visual Studio Code using Make and GCC

· KiCAD – or any other PCB design tool

· Experience in using Python and/or other scripting languages

· Experience using a CI/CD build structure on GitHub.
