SAP Data Migration & Consolidation Lead (Public Cloud S/4 HANA)

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This role is responsible for leading the data consolidation and migration workstream as part of the company"s SAP S/4HANA implementation. The position focuses on extracting, mapping, transforming, and validating core business data-such as customer, vendor, item, and financial records-from multiple legacy ERP systems and Access databases.

The role works closely with business process owners, IT, and implementation partners to ensure clean, accurate, and relevant data is migrated into SAP, enabling continuity of operations and supporting long-term reporting, analytics, and growth strategies. This role is instrumental in reducing dependency on fragmented data sources and establishing a more scalable, centralized data foundation.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Lead all activities related to the consolidation, extraction, cleansing, formatting and migration of business-critical data into SAP S/4HANA.
• Analyze and map data structures from legacy ERP systems and Access databases.
• Work with business and functional leads to identify records for migration (e.g., active customers, vendors, products, financial accounts, open orders).
• Define and apply data transformation, deduplication, and standardization rules.
• Support mock migrations, user acceptance testing, and final cutover activities.
• Coordinate with internal IT teams and external SAP consultants to validate data quality and resolve issues.
• Ensure field-level conformance with SAP requirements, including mandatory fields, sequencing, and dependencies.
• Oversee and coordinate submission of final load files for each data cycle (Mock Loads, UAT, Cutover).
• Document all mapping logic, transformation rules, validation steps, and decisions.
• Track migration progress and provide updates to project leadership and stakeholders.
• Support the transition away from legacy Access-based tools by ensuring migrated data supports reporting and operational needs post-go-live.

EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 5 years" experience in data migration, data analysis, or data quality roles.
• Hands-on experience with ERP data migration projects; SAP S/4HANA strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to work with SQL, Excel, and Access databases.
• Strong understanding of core business data domains, including customer, vendor, material, and financial data.
• Demonstrated experience with data transformation, data validation, and field-level alignment.
• Experience working with data templates and global-to-local mapping in large-scale ERP rollouts.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation practices, and analytical thinking.
• Experience supporting large-scale system implementations or ERP transformations.
• Experience supporting mock loads, UAT, and cutover cycles in an ERP deployment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, adept at strategic thinking and driving measurable results in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel regionally, and nationally.
• Must bring your own Apple or Android cell phone for business-related communications and install business applications as requested by management.
  
  

EDUCATION /CERTIFICATION

• Bachelor"s degree in Information Systems, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field required.
• Certifications in SAP data migration tools, data analysis, or project management are a plus (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate, Microsoft Data Analyst Associate, PMP).
