Backend Software Engineer

  • Position: Backend Software Engineer (8+ Years Experience)
  • Location: Onsite, Austin, TX (5 days/week; locals only)
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Interview: Video

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and scale backend APIs using Java on AWS.
  • Write clean, performant, and maintainable code.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Frontend teams to deliver features.
  • Solve domain-specific problems in leasing, accounting, and operations.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
  • Proficient in Java and AWS.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Startup experience or startup mindset.
  • Passion for clean, readable code and rapid iteration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (top-tier institutions preferred).

Nice To Have

  • Experience with MySQL, React, or CSS.
  • Interest in real estate or property technology.
  • Familiarity with GitHub, Jira, Slack.
  • Enjoys collaborative problem-solving and whiteboarding.
