JOB PURPOSE:
The Governance and Standards Manager is an important role at Oman Air, reporting directly to the Digital
Strategy and Governance Function Head, and will take charge of developing the governance and standards
that align with Oman Air's new strategic direction. Moreover, the Governance and Standards Manager will
play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining the Digital & IT landscape of Oman Air and ensuring all
services, activities, and systems are in line with international best practices
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Governance and Standards:
1. Constantly monitor and identify legal requirements and government regulations affecting digital
innovation, direct the preparation of information required for compliance, and support the Strategy and
Planning Function Head in contact with the government entities
2. Develop and update digital policies, standards, and compliance procedures to ensure the consistency,
security, and quality of digital assets and services
3. Handle all data management and governance activities and guide all practices, focusing on data quality,
security, and compliance
4. Directly oversee and enforce digital governance practices to ensure that digital projects and initiatives
adhere to the defined architecture and meet organizational standards
5. Establish and track metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of governance practices and adherence
with standards
6. Constantly monitor to ensure that all Digital & IT standards and regulations pertaining to our business are
kept up to date and are available for use with our business adhering to the regulatory requirements
7. Implement and enforce data quality standards, data governance policies, and compliance procedures to
protect sensitive passenger information and ensure regulatory adherence
8. Periodically review and optimize resource allocation for data management, ensuring efficient utilization of
data storage and processing resources, including data centers and cloud services
11. Collaborate with technology vendors and data service providers to enhance and support data
management operations, managing relationships, and contracts effectively
• Coordination and Collaboration:
12. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address digital challenges, facilitating continuous
improvement initiatives
13. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders by adopting a consultative and
collaborative approach to digital services
14. Collaborate with technology vendors, data service providers, and external partners to enhance and
support data management operations, managing relationships and contracts effectively
15. Train employees and internal teams on digital standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements
16. Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in digital strategy and governance, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a
management role, ideally in the aviation industry.
• Additional degree such as Master’s IT is added advantage.
Ideal Experience:
• Proven track record in developing digital governance structures, policies, standards, and a keen
awareness of the aviation industry's unique challenges
• Demonstrable experience in leading digital activities and initiatives during periods of organizational
transformation or turnaround
• Comprehensive understanding of data privacy and industry regulations, and digital best practices,
specifically, within the Omani context
• Proven track record of successfully partnering with stakeholders and senior management to provide
strategic digital guidance and support
• Robust management capabilities, exhibiting excellent team management and interpersonal skills
PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, CERTIFICATION OR MEMBERSHIPs:
• Proficient in English both verbal and written
• Proficient in MS office and IT Service Management tools (e.g., JIRA, Manage Engine, Service now)
• ITIL Foundation, ITIL Certification or ITIL Leader or equivalent is mandatory
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum three years of experience in developing and/or managing complex IT Policies,
Processes/Procedures preferably in a cross-functional and hybrid environment

Technical Competences:
• Working knowledge of ITSM platforms in compliance with ITIL/COBIT framework, Microsoft 365
• Experience in strategic technology planning and execution, as well as policy development and
maintenance
