Network Engineer - Contract - Perth

Switches:

• Design, configuration, and deployment of core network switches in datacentres and mining sites.
  
• End-to-end configurations, deployment of distribution and edge switches across production network.
  
• Implement and coordinate Mining OT (Operational Technology) connectivity to the IT Network.
  
• Stage the switch configurations, transfer to site and mount the switches in comms rack.
  
• Migrate all network cables from old to new switches. Decommission old switches and move them to their destination locations.
  
• Excellent hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper and Huawei Network switches.
  
• Working knowledge of network routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and VRF, VPN, DHCP setups.
  
• Strong knowledge of switching protocols, Spanning-tree, VBST, Vlans, VTP and Stack switches build.
  
• Experience in Cisco ISE, TACACS, Cisco DNAC and SolarWinds.
  
• Handling SFP usage types, Fiber optics, and Power supplies for switches
  
• Cabling experiences in Datacentres and mining sites network racks.
  
• Knowledge of wireless network infrastructure.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues arising during or after the migration.
  
• Document network changes, configurations, and diagrams.
  
• Coordinate with vendors to address any hardware or software issues with switches.
  
• Providing training and handoff to BAU teams after migration completion.
  

General requirements:

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening
  
• Valid Australian driver's license with working rights in Australia.
  
• Experience with ITIL or other service management frameworks.
  
• Strong compliance with site safety, policies, and cybersecurity standards.
  
• Cisco CCNP Routing/Switching/Wireless certifications are strongly preferred.
