Senior DevOps Engineer

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to implement and maintain robust DevOps tooling and infrastructure across a variety of systems and services. This role is pivotal in supporting and enhancing the development, deployment, and operational processes of business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage application build, release, deployment, and configuration processes.
- Develop best practice CI/CD pipelines, incorporating test-driven development (TDD) principles and automation.
- Set up and maintain telemetry and log monitoring systems.
- Conduct regular quality reviews and ensure compliance with DevOps methodologies across teams.
- Deliver training and knowledge transfer sessions to improve adoption of DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support ongoing systems and new initiatives.
- Create and maintain comprehensive systems documentation.
Required Experience
Mandatory:
- 7+ years of senior-level experience in DevOps or related roles.
- Extensive experience with:
- Linux-based operating systems: installation, configuration, and system maintenance.
- Automation and scripting technologies.
- Code repository management (e.g., Git, GitHub, Bitbucket).
Minimum 3 years’ experience with:
- Telemetry/log monitoring systems (e.g. ELK stack).
- Implementing and maintaining CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
Key Technical Skills & Competencies
Scripting & Automation:
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, etc.
- Use of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
DevOps Tooling & Microservices:
- Pipeline design and implementation (CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
- Application of TDD and related quality practices.
- Knowledge of microservices and event streaming (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Monitoring & Security:
- Experience with universal log monitoring tools and practices.
- Awareness of IT security practices in DevOps environments.
Collaboration & Documentation:
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Strong documentation skills (e.g. URS, DS, DDS, validation docs).
Desirable (Not Essential):
- A primary degree in an IT or OT-related discipline.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., Pharma, Manufacturing, GMP).
