The Design Team

At Phorest, design plays a crucial role in shaping the product experience across all touchpoints. The team is embedded in product areas to ensure consistency and impact at every step of the user journey.

To support our growing organization and scale our design practices, we’re hiring a Product Design Manager. This role will manage a group of talented mid- and senior-level designers, oversee design in product teams without dedicated designers, and work closely with leadership to define and implement principles, workflows, and rituals that will enable the design team to thrive.

You’ll have the opportunity to lead with impact while mentoring and coaching designers, improving how we collaborate, and ensuring design quality across all our products.

The Opportunity
  • Lead and mentor a team of associate to senior-level designers, helping them grow their skills and careers.

  • Manage and oversee design work across product teams without dedicated designers, ensuring consistency and quality.

  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership to establish and refine team principles, processes, and rituals.

  • Drive initiatives to evolve our design systems and practices to scale with our growing organization.

  • Join a collaborative and supportive design team, working across a suite of products that span web, mobile, and beyond.

  • Shape the future of our design team as a key partner in scaling design at Phorest.

What You'll Do
  • Manage and mentor product designers, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence.

  • Act as a design advocate across the organization, championing the value of design in delivering business and customer outcomes.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to scope and assign work to designers, ensuring their workloads are balanced and aligned with their strengths.

  • Step in as a hands-on designer when necessary, supporting teams without dedicated design resources by delivering high-quality design solutions.

  • Partner with the Head of Product Design to define and implement design principles, workflows, and rituals that empower the team to do their best work.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve our design processes to ensure efficiency and scalability as the team grows.

  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to align on goals, roadmaps, and project priorities.

Who You Are
  • A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in product design (UX/UI), with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.

  • Proven experience mentoring and managing designers, with a focus on professional growth and delivering impact.

  • A deep understanding of how to deliver design work that aligns with business and user needs.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • A robust design process that delivers thoughtful, impactful, and scalable solutions.

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and partnering with product and engineering leads.

  • A strong grasp of design systems and the ability to contribute to their evolution.

  • A passion for creating an inclusive, supportive, and empowering team culture.

Nice To Have
  • Previous experience working in SaaS, B2B products, or complex systems with multiple touchpoints (web and mobile).

  • Experience designing for industries like salons, beauty, healthcare, medi-aesthetics, or similar domains.
