Job Summary: As a backend developer in Magic, you will be part of the core effort to keep pushing our Gamification, Loyalty, Messaging and Content Management Systems forward by collaborating with other skilled developers to realise our product vision as well as introducing new features, bug fixes and technical improvements.

Role Responsibilities:

Technical responsibilities

• Identify and implement technology trends that will be able to support the future success of the business
• Ensure teams follow coding standards and processes
• Ensure overall high-level quality in everything we do in line with Business priorities
• Monitor on all software development activities
• Ensure best practices for delivery of scalable and high-quality software and products
• Maintenance and improvement of the different layers of the BE: code, tools, tests, pipeline.. interacting with other departments like DevOps and Platform
• Knowledge of the architecture of Magic BE into a level where it can propose changes, improve the current state, adding new packages and functionalities
• Maintenance and improvement of our QA tools and processes
  
  

Leadership responsibilities

• Maintain strong working relationship across the department
• Ensure effective internal communications within the Tech department
• Work towards the company vision and cascade the tech vision using the OKR's system
• Encourage and promote best engineering practices and ensure Agile processes are followed across.

• Good understanding of the organisation business model, products, services and solutions
• Flexible and adaptive mindset in order to meet partners and internal requirements
• Able to visualise what should be done to achieve particular goals and successful future
  
  
  

Requirements

• Go programming language
• Distributed systems
• PostgreSQL or similar
• Elasticsearch or similar
• Problem solving and performance troubleshooting skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Scrum/Agile methodologies
