We in the Ocean Science department aim to build systems that support the world in quantifying the realities of the ocean and assess the impact of industrialization of the ocean resources. We supply a wide range of ocean monitoring sensor systems and the corresponding digital solutions. Our newest digital cloud-based product, Blue Insight, bridges the gap between world class sensors and world class scientists.

Blue Insight creates value for our customers through software deployed to USV, AUV, Offshore Fish Farms, Research Vessels, and Cloud. We strive for the high level of automation required in a world that is increasingly autonomous. Our customers can use automatic deployment of Machine Learning algorithms to edge devices improving operational efficiency.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Frontend Developer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, engaging, and performant web applications in Angular. You’ll collaborate closely with our back-end developers, designers, and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences. While not required, experience in handling geospatial data and creating mapping applications would be a significant advantage.

We think you should be able to

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient web applications with visualization of ocean data.
• Work closely with data scientists to integrate advanced data visualizations.
• Collaborate with designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into fully functional UIs.
• Implement responsive design to support various devices and screen sizes.
• Optimize front-end performance and loading times.
• Keep abreast of new developments in Angular and web technologies.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in developing front-end applications using Angular (any version, though familiarity with newer versions is ideal).
• Strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and handling JSON data.
• Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
• Proficiency in building responsive UIs and ensuring cross-browser compatibility.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with data science and visualization tools.
• Experience working with mapping libraries and frameworks (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, OpenLayers, KeplerGL or similar)
• Knowledge of GIS concepts and ability to integrate geospatial data into web applications.
• Comfortable collaborating with designers and product managers to create user-focused interfaces.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio.
