Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Qatar

Parsons is looking for a talented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to conduct and support the delivery of complete process mechanical designs for foul sewer, treated water, storm water and sewage pumping stations and treatment plants.

What You'll Be Doing

• Carrying out Concept, preliminary and detailed engineering works related to the mechanical design for foul sewer, storm water and treated water pumping stations stations to PWA standards and quality.
• Familiar with PFD, P&ID, mechanical calculations such as blower sizing, screen sizing, grit classifiers and process pumps including datasheets for the treatment plants
• Carryout design of odour control systems including bio filtration and activated carbon filtration as required with input from the vendors.
• Carry out hydraulic calculations and hydraulic analysis modeling for sewage treatment plants and pumping stations.
• Carry out preliminary surge analysis for the pumping station projects as required.
• Familiar with the design of HVAC, Plumbing and firefighting systems associated with pumping stations and utility buildings.
• Knowledge of CFD analysis preferred.
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Preparing and generating spread sheets to carry out calculations.
• Coordination with other Discipline Engineers as applicable.
• Coordinate with BIM/CAD Technicians concerning project requirements and timelines.
• Conducting client and project meetings as required by the project.
• Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met in all designs.
• Support the project submittals and No Objection Certificates (NOC) process to the relevant Authorities.
• Allocating resources and time effectively
• Stay updated with relevant technical developments within the discipline.
• Understand the contract and scope of project deliverables.
• Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
• Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to Seniors or MEP manager.
• Attend and contribute in team and project meetings as required.
• Complete accurate time sheets by set deadline.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by management.
  
  
  

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• At least 12+ years of design experience foul sewer, treated water, storm water and sewage Pumping stations and treatment plants.
• Must be internationally recognized with engineering licenses such as PE, CPEng, CEng
• Extensive experience in design development.
• Advanced proficiency in relevant software including Water gems, hydraulic modeling analysis, HAP, etc.
• Must have thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Extensive experience in Doha/Qatar is mandatory.
• Must be registered with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) in Qatar.
