Product Development Manager

To accommodate the growth of Nipro PharmaPackaging International (NPI), we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Product development Manager who will lead a team of 3 Product Developers.

About the role

You will be working in a team that manages development projects for new products within the Nipro PharmaPackaging International (NPI) portfolio, focusing on high added-value products. This role involves product-related testing, scientific studies, and process development projects to implement new products and optimize existing ones.

What you’ll do:

New product development strategy and priorities (20%)

• Identify customer needs and market potential
• Generate and prioritize ideas based on market demands
• Draft high-level concepts and assess technical feasibility
• Assess commercial viability and align global requirements

New product development projects (50%)

• Support and review detailed project plans for high added-value products
• Align with NPI Product Management and involved departments
• Coordinate and follow up on project activities
• Ensure projects are on budget and on time, mitigating any deviations
• Document product development from initiation to final product specification

Process development and optimization projects (15%)

• Define objectives, scope, and responsibilities for process development
• Align with NPI Product Management and Production at involved sites
• Support and follow up on new processes or optimizations
• Compile technical reports on project planning, execution, and results

Product related testing and scientific studies (15%)

• Set up study protocols with defined objectives and scope
• Investigate and verify test parameters through pre-testing
• Execute experimental work systematically according to study protocols
• Compile raw data, results, and conclusions in technical documents
• Derive product benefits from study results

What you’ll need:

• Scientific university degree
• Proven experience in product development in the pharmaceutical primary packaging and project management
• Experience with pharmaceutical primary packaging, drug delivery devices, parenteral drug delivery
• Strong understanding of market demands and customer needs in the pharmaceutical sector
• People management experience
• Ability to draft and assess high-level concepts
• Excellent organizational and coordination skills
• Experience in process development and optimization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
