Job Description – Senior Network Architect

Client is currently seeking a Senior-level Network Architect with deep hands-on expertise to modernise and future-proof network infrastructure for the next 5–10 years. The ideal candidate is not only technically proficient but also a strategic thinker and change agent, capable of influencing stakeholders and driving the networking and security teams towards a modern, agile, and security-first approach.

The objective is to establish a flexible, scalable network that allows for rapid office integration while maintaining high security and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and design data communication networks, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
• Present network plans to management staff, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Oversee network implementation, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Manage information and network security, ensuring protection against vulnerabilities.
• Oversee hardware and software upgrades, ensuring seamless transitions.
• Conduct network maintenance and repairs, ensuring optimal performance.
• Maintain documentation, including drawings, configurations, and descriptions.
• Research advancements in network technologies, ensuring a future-proof infrastructure.

Must-Have Technical Skills

Network Expertise

• Layer 1: WAN connection types, provider connection types, LAN connection types.
• Layer 2: VLANS, Port channels, sub-interfaces vs trunk.
• Layer 3: IP, Routing, VRF.

Technical Proficiency

• Proven knowledge and experience with Firewalls (Fortigate & Forcepoint).
• Cisco Certification and expertise in Cisco network solutions.
• Ability to analyse complex network infrastructures, determine root causes of deficiencies, propose solutions, and manage implementation.
• Telephony/Voip infrastructure management and migration projects.
• Knowledge of modern networking technologies, including SD-WAN, Cloud Networking, and Zero Trust.
• Understanding of telecom provider offerings, with the ability to select optimal services.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Project Management Certification is an advantage.

Work Environment & Requirements

• Hybrid work model:
• 1–2 days per week in the office initially.
• A flexible approach may be considered after the onboarding phase.
• Business Trips: 3-4 trips per year within the EU.
• Contract Duration: 1-year contract with possibility for extension.
