We’re now looking for a Data Analyst to join our Data Team and help us uncover actionable user behavior insights on our website and apps to guide our growth and innovation. If you’re skilled in SQL, a data viz wizard who can engage a team with your data stories and have broad experience of the whole data pipeline process, you’re exactly who we’re looking for. 

We are in the early stages of setting up our new data analytics team. While you will get excellent technical support from our infrastructure and database experts, it is crucial that you have a pragmatic mindset and are willing to take on a generalist role while we are establishing our new platform.

You will: 

• Engage the Team: Present findings in a way that’s as clear as it is compelling, helping everyone in marketing and product development to make data-driven decisions.
• Define Data Models: Set up the new data models in Snowflake to enable self-serve usage of the data. 
• Visualize the Data: Create stunning, interactive dashboards in Tableau that make insights easy to digest.

But also:

• Survey Deep-Dive: Analyze responses from our massive yearly user survey (25,000 respondents!) to shape future product development. A treasure trove for understanding our users!
• Collaborate on ETL: Assist our infrastructure experts in making the final adjustments of our new AWS/Snowflake data pipeline.
• Geographical Data Exploration: Get hands-on with user-generated flight tracking data, identifying trends in flight phases and behaviors. Think Gamification for pilots!
  

• Strong interest in business and product: You’re motivated by the “why”, not just the “how”. Bonus points if you’ve worked with subscription-based business models and understand key metrics like conversion, retention, customer lifetime value (CLV), and churn..
• Tech proficiency: You’re comfortable working with tools like SQL, Python, and Git, and have hands-on experience across the data pipeline.
• Pragmatic thinker: You know when to build for scalability and when it’s better to keep things simple and lean..
• Approachable & team-oriented: You’re not afraid to ask questions, share ideas, and iterate in the open. You value teamwork and open communication.
• Data-driven problem solver and story-teller: You know how to take complex data and turn it into insights that the teams can understand and act on.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with modern data tools like dbt and cloud data warehouses (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift)
• Prior experience working embedded within product teams
• Interest or experience in developing data infrastructure and architecture
