Junior Equity Research Analyst – Indian Market

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive fundamental and financial research on publicly traded companies in the market, specifically in the Indian market, including new age businesses and emerging market sectors.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, perform forecasting, and deliver analyses using Excel, R, and Python to support investment decisions.
• Prepare clear, concise write-ups and presentations on investment ideas for internal discussions and senior management, summarizing and visualizing research findings.
• Perform both quantitative and qualitative analysis on businesses, including risk assessment and portfolio risk analysis.
• Collaborate with colleagues across teams and support the investment team with additional research, analytical tasks, and on-ground due diligence as needed.
• Engage with company management, attend earnings calls (in English, Hindi, and other relevant Indian languages), and conduct research for portfolio companies, specifically Indian portfolio companies.

Required Qualifications

• MBA from an established and well-known university.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to dissect business models in emerging markets.
• Demonstrated experience in the Indian equity market, ideally with published research on new age companies in reputed international journals.
• Previous experience at a financial services firm, with exposure to financial service companies, ratings agencies, and risk analysis (ideally within a Swiss or European bank).
• Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and advanced data analysis using Excel, R, and Python.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills; able to summarize and visualize research for investment decisions.
• Fluent in business-level English and Hindi; fluency in other Indian languages for due diligence is a strong plus.
• Multicultural and multinational experience with professional, educational, or personal exposure in multiple countries, supporting a global investing perspective.
• Experience preparing investment idea write-ups and presenting to senior stakeholders.
• Experience using and designing Salesforce Sales Cloud is an advantage.
• Preferably able to communicate at an intermediate level of German and elementary French.
