Senior Java Developer

Nexeo Belgium is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join a major transformation program within the financial sector.

As a Senior Java Developer, you will:

• Participate in the development, refactoring, or greenfield creation of business-critical applications in a complex enterprise landscape.
• Design and implement backend components and web services using Java and Spring, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with analysts, architects, and fellow developers to define robust software solutions and contribute to technical design.
• Support testing (JUnit), technical documentation, and deployment pipelines (CI/CD) while mentoring junior team members.
• Ensure technical excellence through Agile and DevOps best practices (SCRUM, TDD, code reviews, pair programming).

Your profile:

• 7+ years of experience in Java development with strong knowledge of Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Security, JPA, etc.).
• 5+ years of experience in front-end development with Angular and TypeScript.
• Excellent knowledge of REST & SOAP APIs, microservices, and containerization (Docker, OpenShift).
• Proficient with integration tools and CI/CD (Jenkins, Maven, Git, SonarQube).
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and ORM frameworks.
• Familiarity with BPMN, UML, and Agile documentation practices.

You have:

• A pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset.
• A team player attitude with the ability to coach and support junior developers.
• Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments and handling complex multi-system integrations.
• Strong communication skills in English + active knowledge of French or Dutch.
• Belgian nationality and residency in Belgium (mandatory due to project sensitivity).

• Able to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Comfortable participating in technical meetings and liaising with stakeholders.
• Self-driven and capable of working in hybrid work models.
