The Network Support Engineer is responsible for analyzing, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluating existing network systems, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), cloud networks, servers, and other data communications networks to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.

The Network Support Engineer is responsible for analyzing, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluating existing network systems, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), cloud networks, servers, and other data communications networks to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
- Strong Smarthands network device rack, stack, patch, troubleshoot and decommission skills.
- Ability to identify network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, APs) and understand their basic role and functions.
- Knowledge and experience with providing console access to devices, using PuTTY to connect to devices, working on a telephonic bridge with remote engineers, sharing console/PuTTY access via screen sharing software.
- Familiar with rack elevations, enterprise campus MDF and IDF closets and datacentre environments.
- Experience with installs and refresh of routers, switches and APs.
- Patch cabling, power cord connections, closet cable dressing.
- Reliable and punctual in an SLA driven schedule.
- Able to follow instructions from senior engineers both verbal and written.
- Accurate and reliable in following site visit procedures, communication requirements and protocols.
- Professional demeanour, strong communication and client facing skills.
- A positive attitude.
- Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision and solve unexpected problems (technical or non-technical) on the fly.
- Driven to deliver quality work.
