Department: Agentic AI Software Product Manager
Reports To: Executive Leadership
Engagement Type: Contractor / Freelance
Job Location: Fully Remote - preferably from Canada, Caribbean, South America, South Africa, Europe; open to candidates willing to work US EST time zone
Work Schedule: Targeting 15–20 hours per week. Working hours must overlap with EST business hours (9am - 5pm EST) for at least four hours each day.
About Galactic Fed:
Growth marketing agency that helps businesses grow with online marketing channels, such as paid media ads (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc), SEO, email, organic social, web dev, CRO, and more.
We’ve helped companies of all sizes achieve enormous revenue and success, from Fortune 50 brands to early-stage startups.
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced, hyper-organized, and independent Software Product Manager to lead product management for our new Agentic AI software initiative. This on-demand role will drive the development of an innovative, self-serve marketing platform, initially with a focus on one marketing channel (like Google Ads). An example potential competitor would be Cofactory.
Your responsibilities in the first few months will be:
- Researching and proposing one beachhead marketing channel (like Google Ads, email, content, etc) for which we will build an MVP agentic solution.
- Next, you will set the roadmap and vision for development of this software, including UX / UI, visual design, backend architecture, and more.
- Then, you will manage Tom Haugen, our AI developer, who will be the primary person who actually writes the software.
TL;DR: you will set the product vision, define and own the roadmap, and ensure smooth execution in collaboration with internal stakeholders, particularly our technical lead, Tom Haugen. You’ll need to be proactive, results-driven, and comfortable holding others accountable to timelines and deliverables. You will own everything except the actual creation of the code (though you will be responsible for ensuring that we are shipping code on time and hitting deadlines).
Key Responsibilities
Vision & Strategy
- Define and iterate on the product vision, positioning, and success metrics.
- Identify and validate potential initial use cases (e.g., agentic Google Ads management).
- Conduct competitive and market research to identify viable entry points and differentiators.
Roadmap & Execution
- Build a product roadmap with milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
- Track progress and maintain clarity and alignment across stakeholders.
- Proactively manage and clear roadblocks, escalating issues as needed.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a de facto project manager for technical implementation, primarily with Tom Haugen.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts (e.g., design, marketing, leadership) to support development.
- Hold team members accountable and follow up on action items and deadlines.
Product Design & Research
- Apply a strong sense of design and usability to product decisions.
- Lead discovery sessions and conduct competitive analysis.
- Translate customer and business needs into feature requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience (3+ years) in software product management or product ownership.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills; able to juggle priorities independently.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to research, synthesize insights, and make informed strategic recommendations.
- A "squeaky wheel" mindset: not afraid to follow up, ask questions, and push for progress.
- Demonstrated ability to manage timelines, roadmaps, and cross-functional collaboration.
- General design sensibility and ability to evaluate UX/UI decisions.
- Experience in startup or lean environments is highly preferred.
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with AI and Agentic systems.
- Marketing or AdTech domain knowledge (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads).
- Experience managing remote, distributed teams.
- Background in launching early-stage SaaS products.
