As a Data Engineer, you will be developing data-driven solutions to help Smartly organisation to identify business critical areas of interest and have a significant personal impact on the data architecture we are building.
Our team of data engineers and analysts strive to enable smart business decisions based on data. We collect, warehouse, and refine data to support business intelligence, product analysis and sales operations. The team works closely with multiple teams across the company to build a data infrastructure to support our growing organisation.
Our stack: Cloud SQL database (Snowflake, but experience with AWS Redshift and/or GCP BigQuery also welcome), Postgres, Airflow (Python), Kubernetes, Kafka, dbt (Data Build Tool), Fivetran, Segment, redash, Tableau.

What you will be working with as a Data Engineer, you will:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize our data infrastructure
- Work with large-scale cloud data warehouses like, for example BigQuery, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL ensuring data quality, accuracy, and reliability across the board.
- Design, implement, and manage ETL/ELT pipelines to move data into our data warehouse efficiently
- Develop and maintain internal tools for easier and more efficient data processing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data into our product and company environments.
- Build and maintain APIs that provide easy access to data for internal teams or external integrations
- Strong programming skills in SQL and Python
- Hands-on experience developing workflows in Airflow to automate, schedule, and orchestrate data pipelines
- Experience with cloud platforms and data warehousing solutions (e.g., AWS, Snowflake, GCP)
- Practical experience working with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar platforms
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Professional, problem-solving mindset, with a proactive and passionate attitude.
- Experience working with Kubernetes for container orchestration
- Experience working with TypeScript or Ruby
- Data analysis experience
