Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Network Security Expert located in Doha, Qatar. The Network Security Expert will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cybersecurity measures to protect an organization’s data and systems. Daily tasks include monitoring network traffic, identifying and responding to security incidents, conducting vulnerability assessments, and collaborating with other teams to ensure application and information security. The role also involves creating security policies and procedures, staying updated on the latest security threats, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
· Design, implement, and manage secure network infrastructures to meet international cybersecurity standards.
· Conduct in-depth vulnerability assessments across network environments and recommend mitigation measures.
· Lead the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of network security solutions such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, DDoS Protection, WAF, etc.
· Monitor, detect, and respond to network-based threats and attacks in real-time.
· Collaborate on incident response and forensics for network-related incidents.
· Performing basic penetration testing to evaluate WAF and IDS/IPS capabilities.
Required Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, architecture, and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Hands-on experience with advanced firewall configurations.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in network security.
- Certifications in Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco firewalls, or any other relevant security certifications are required.
- Skills in Cybersecurity and Information Security
- Experience in Network Security and Application Security
- Proficiency in Security Operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or related disciplines. Advanced degrees are an advantage.
