Full Stack Engineer

At Stomble we're an exciting startup looking for a highly experienced frontend engineer to join our team. We are a small startup bootstrapping our way forward with a group of eager engineers and designers already with a high level of ambition to build and deliver our MVP product to the world. Our mission at Stomble, is to use innovative technologies to increase economic opportunity.

We're looking for a highly skilled engineer or lead, who is willing to join and/or help a small scrappy startup, who has experienced everything that we are going through, going to face and potential upcoming pitfalls by lending their advice or skills to our project. Our goal is to be a world class company, with working class knowledge and the ability to tackle all problems head-on.

Why are we looking for an experienced person?

We are opening ourselves up to someone willing donate their time, knowledge and skills to help us learn, grow and develop our incredible product from an idea into a competitive platform that competes at the highest levels and has the pulling power to entice the smartest people to join our mission and vision. In addition, we would be looking for experienced people to join our small scrappy startup to help solve those problems and to give us the best chances at success. We need a frontend engineer who can assist us to get our first released product built and shipped to the market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in agile development, including design, implementation, and deployment.
• Architect and provide guidance on building end-to-end systems optimizations for speed and scale.
• Has working knowledge or experience in React with TypeScript.
• Knowledge of JavaScript and object orientated programming.
• Developing, implementing and working with RESTful API's.
• Working with processing data from the backend and displaying on the frontend.
• Working closely with designers to ensure efficiency, accuracy and viability.
• Designing solutions to address and understand user problems.

Key skills:

• Must have working knowledge or experience in React with TypeScript.
• Can write, debug and optimize code efficiently.
• Experienced working with React hooks and redux.
• Understanding of Material UI.
• Has experience writing in Node.js.
• Experience using Formik and knowledge in complex form workflows.
• Understanding of CSS, JavaScript and HTML5.
• Understanding of architecture and infrastructure planning for future development.
• Understanding of latency and speed of loading pages.

The successful candidates will have:

• An intrinsic motivation to continuously learn and fill any gaps in their skills.
• Openness and willingness to think of innovative solutions to solve challenging technical problems.
• Ability to work with a variety of different disciplines and teams by clearly communicating issues, problems and solutions.
• Knowledge of building and communicating frontend and backend together and performing a demonstration to the required teams.
• Understanding of timeframes, deadlines and estimations of a given feature.

Limitations of the position:

• Position is fully remote.
• This role is unpaid unfortunately as we haven't generated any revenue or raised venture capital.
• We are unable to sponsor applicants at this time.
• Must be located in Australia.
