Senior Network Engineer – Cisco

Our client, a global leader in the financial sector, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Cisco networking to support and enhance their enterprise data center infrastructure. This is a fully on-prem environment, and the role plays a key part in the data center network operations team.

The position requires deep knowledge of Cisco routing and switching. This is a hands-on role combining operational support with high-level design responsibilities, focused on stability, performance, and security across a global network.

What You'll Do:

• Provide comprehensive support across L1, L2, and L3 within the data center network environment
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to ensure high availability and performance
• Design, configure, and maintain Cisco network infrastructure
• Manage network changes, patches, and upgrades
• Lead incident response and operational excellence across the data center infrastructure
• Collaborate with global teams to drive network improvements and maintain high security standards

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in enterprise environments
• Strong Cisco networking experience in routing, switching, and incident management
• Comfortable working in operational and design-focused roles within data centers
• Cisco certification (CCNP or CCIE) is required
• A team-oriented mindset with clear communication and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
• You are already based in the Netherlands
