Java Developer – UK-Based

Location: Remote (UK-based)

Job Type: Full-Time / Contract

About The Role

We are looking for a talented and motivated Java Developer to join our remote development team. You will be working on high-performance, scalable web applications and backend systems for clients in the UK and globally. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fully remote, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications and microservices.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and deliver new features.

Write clean, testable, and efficient code following best practices.

Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues.

Participate in Agile/Scrum development cycles.

Contribute to system architecture and technical documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Java Developer (minimum 3+ years).

Strong knowledge of Java 8+ and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, etc.).

Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.

Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git).

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.

Familiar with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Right to work in the UK and based in the UK.

Nice To Have

Experience with frontend technologies (React, Angular, etc.)

Knowledge of DevOps practices and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)

Prior experience working in a fully remote, distributed team.
