The team is focused on delivering seamless user experiences across core features like Feeds, Posting, Commenting, Media, and more. As a Backend Engineer, you’ll join a high-impact, fast-moving team working on large-scale backend systems and services that directly shape the product. You’ll contribute to systems supporting millions of users, integrating machine learning models, and building scalable architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Work cross-functionally with engineers, MLEs, and PMs to design and deliver backend systems for user-facing features
• Take ownership of key technical and architectural decisions across multiple product areas
• Help decompose monolithic systems into clean, decoupled services that separate infrastructure and product logic
• Build and maintain data pipelines to support ML feature engineering and occasionally productionalize ML models
• Write clean, scalable, and production-quality code with a focus on performance and maintainability

Requirements:

• At least 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer using Go and one or more of Python, Ruby, Java, or C++
• Strong experience with Go (must-have)
• Solid understanding of GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift basics, and ability to design and implement maintainable APIs
• Experience with distributed caching systems and large-scale distributed data storage such as Cassandra

Overlap time requirements: Full overlap with PST time zone
