🐝 About the team

You’ll lead and manage an Experience Design team within an Agile Product and Engineering organisation. You’ll work closely with 11 experts in Product Design from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and other European locations.

💥 Your impact

• Play a key role in the Product Engineering and Experience Leadership team, guiding the strategic direction of EPI’s products and services
• Serve as the line manager for a talented, multidisciplinary team of Experience Designers, including UX, Product Design, UX Writing, User Research, Design Operations, and Program Management
• Lead the long-term evolution of the Experience Design team, focusing on hiring, training, and fostering an inclusive culture
• Ensure the quality and richness of end-user experiences by acting as a creative facilitator for Experience Designers and their colleagues. Provide challenging creative direction, steering, and guidance based on industry best practices
• Work closely with EPI’s brand and marketing teams to align product experiences with customer expectations
• Report to EPI’s CPTO, support direct interactions with EPI’s member banks, participate in management meetings as needed, and travel regularly to EPI’s offices and team on-sites

💻 Technology stack

• Figma, PowerPoint, Slack, MS Office 365 Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Atlassian Jira/Confluence and Miro

🕵🏻‍♀️ To succeed, you should meet at least 70% of these requirements

• +15 years of experience in a product design and at least 5 years of experience in managing design teams and strategy
• Proven leadership experience in design teams, ideally within a startup or scale-up environment, handling multi-touch user experiences and diverse audiences
• Demonstrated success in creating and evaluating innovative digital product experiences
• Degree and/or relevant practical qualification in design or creative management
• Passion for coaching, guiding, and instructing individuals and teams on detailed UX and UI craft topics
• Experience with innovative scaling payment brands would be a plus
• Ability to plan and facilitate engaging user-centred design (UCD) ways of working
• Experience in integrating qualitative and quantitative research methodologies in UCD workflows
• Experience of collaborating to deliver experiences that are inclusive and accessible
• Working knowledge of industry-standard design tools - Figma component libraries, for example – and an eye on emerging possibilities for rapid prototyping and user feedback
• Fluent in English (CEFR C1 or C2) is mandatory; proficiency in German, Dutch, French, or any additional European languages is a plus
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
