Embedded Engineer

We are working with an award-winning Limerick headquartered, manufacturer who make components used by clients in pharmaceutical, automotive and manufacturing companies globally.

Due to continued growth they need to hire an embedded/software engineer – it is a unique role with requires knowledge of software programming such as VB.net and C# in addition to understanding PCB design and writing firmware.

The ideal candidate may not be an expert in all but will have a good base level.

They are negotiable on salary for the right person and offer a chance to play a very important role in their continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain software applications using VB.net and C#.
• Design and optimize SQL scripts and work with MSSQL Databases.
• Develop and implement socket programming solutions.
• Design microcontroller-based industrial control PCBs from the ground up
• Hardware to support multiple connectivity and communication protocols: Ethernet, RS232C, CAN BUS, Modbus, ProfiBus, OPC-UA, EtherCat, MQTT, OCPP, and wireless M-Bus.
• Develop firmware in C and assembly language for: TCP Stacks.
• Implementation of multiple protocols based on PCB design.
• Control routines for industrial control systems and new machine/PCB builds.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in VB.net and C#.
• Expertise in SQL scripting and MSSQL Databases.
• Experience with socket programming.
• Ability to design industrial control PCBs, including hardware interfacing and connectivity.
• Experience with firmware development in C and assembly language.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, CAN BUS, ProfiBus, OPC-UA, MQTT, OCPP, and EtherCat.
