About the role:

Our client is seeking a talented and experience project manager to support their big data platform agenda.

As a project manager, responsibilities will include:

Leadprojectteamsindeliveringsolutionsaccordingtoprojectcharterorclientproject contracts for Data initiatives

Manageprojectplan,budget,structure,scheduleandstaffingrequirementsincluding internal staff, client employees and third-party vendors

Projectperformanceresponsibilityformanagingscope,cost,scheduleandcontractual deliverables

Become a bridge between key client business stakeholders and Agile development team

ManagevaluedeliveredbyAgiledevelopmentteamandensuringalignmentwithoverall service strategy of the client

Understandtheclient’sDivisionalandGroupobjectivesandstrategiesandmanagethe product’s business and technology stakeholders.

Balancethetrade-offbetweenquality,benefits,risk,budget,timetomarketanduser experience and effectively communicate it to key project stakeholders

Clearlydefinetheproductandrequirementswithclientbusinessstakeholdersand development teams by translating requirement and writing epics, features and stories

MaintaintheNon-functionalRequirements(NFRs),tohelpensurethatthesolution meets relevant standards and other system quality requirements

ProvidesupporttotheteamandworkcloselywiththeScrumMastertoremoveteam impediments & lead by example

The successful candidate:

The role holder must be able to satisfy the following criteria:

Minimumof10+yearsofexperienceasaprojectmanager,iterationmanagerorscrum master in IT Consulting or other technology business units across the industry

Minimumof3+yearsofprojectmanagementexperienceindatainitiativessuchasdata modernisation, migration, governance, reporting, analytics and data science

DiversepracticalexperienceinprojectdeliveryframeworkssuchasScaledAgile, Distributed Agile, Agile Sprints, Kanban, Waterfall etc

Must have experience with Azure Synapse.



SkillsincludeProjectPlanning,Budgeting,PerformanceManagement,Scheduling, Staffing,PMMethods,PerformanceManagement,ScopeManagement,Contractual Deliverables, Change Control and Risk Management

Solid Understanding of various data professional roles and responsibilities

Understandingofconceptsofbusiness-criticaldesign,servicessensitivetoperformance SLAswithhighavailability,fault-tolerance,automaticfail-overandgeographical redundancy

ExperiencedeliveringprojectsbasedonCloudPlatformsuchasAzure,AWS,GCP and IBM and other modern data platforms

Understanding of containerisation, virtualisation, infrastructure and networking

Understanding of software development life cycle and methodologies

Experience in presenting to and influencing stakeholders and senior managers

Experience in Banking is required.

Team leadership and people manager experience

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related Engineering courses

One or more industry-recognised technology or project delivery certifications or badges

What's on offer?

This is a 9 month contract with a high chance of extension. The hourly rate will be between $90 and $110 an hour depending on experience. The role is based in Sydney and hybrid working will be on offer.
