Job summary

We are looking for a Mid/Senior level Android Developer in order to expand our team in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. As part of the Mobile department you will be responsible with developing, and providing maintenance for software solutions that run on Android devices.

Main activities

• Implement responsive applications using Kotlin (and Java in rare cases).
• Build application user interface using Compose UI and XML using Android Studio.
• Create optimal user experience scenarios by adhering to Android’s design guidelines.
• Integrate third party or native libraries, such as: Android Jetpack, Gradle, Coroutines, Retrofit, OkHttp, Room, Firebase, Hilt, Koin, Unit Testing, UI Testing, Compose UI Previews, etc.
• Write code that takes into account the lifecycle of Android applications and efficiently manages the device's resources (CPU, GPU, RAM, Storage).
• Integrate cloud hosted solutions using REST APIs and/or WebSockets.
• Debug applications (by identifying crashes and bugs) and optimize projects (memory, speed, latency) by using debugging and profiling tools.
• Publish apps on native or third party distribution solutions (Play Store, Firebase, etc.).
• Build CI/CD pipelines for Bitbucket / GitHub.
• Create and maintain signing keystores and other keys that are required in the app development and distribution processes.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development processes.
• Participate in department meetings (bi-weeklies, workshops) and project meetings (dailies, sprint plannings, demos).
• Use Unix command line tools (adb, fastboot) on macOS.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Android development
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Kotlin / Java, with relevant experience using XML and / or Compose UI.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as in a team.
• Ability to adapt to new challenges and learn quickly.
