SENIOR ANDROID ENGINEER

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Android Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Poland. Our client is a Toronto-based technology company specializing in AI-powered healthcare consumer experience (CX) platforms. The company is developing systems that predict user behavior in health programs by aggregating historical engagement data into models. Additionally, they are working on personalizing user content by analyzing user profiles and previous content interactions. These innovations aim to tailor health program recommendations and content delivery to individual needs. It offers health insurance, employee health benefits, digital health, patient engagement and care, consumer health, and other services. The company has evolved from serving employers to supporting payers, providers, and consumer health partners across the U.S., Canada, and Asia-Pacific.

You’ll build native mobile applications for Android. You will work as part of a small cross-functional team to deliver features on the roadmap and continually maintain and improve a specific product area. You are responsible for large pieces of work, setting best practices, and mentoring other team members.

Overlap till 1 pm EST is required.

Requirements

• Experience building native Android applications.
• Understanding of mobile development best practices.
• Experience building and maintaining automated test suites.
• Ability to work with CI tools to support mobile builds and releases
• Expertise in writing correct and clean code with guidance and consistently follows stated best practices.
• Understanding how your work fits into the team and company objectives.
• The ability to prioritize tasks without getting caught up in unimportant details.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain native mobile applications, emphasizing the use of Jetpack Compose, Navigation, Clean Architecture, and MVI to build modern and performant user interfaces.
• Participate in technical design and planning discussions.
• Uphold standards for quality by performing code reviews, fixing bugs, creating automated tests, and monitoring performance.
• Collaborate with UX designers to build polished user interfaces.
• Adhere to all system operation policies, including but not limited to access control, encryption control, logging, change management, platform security, system configuration, physical, and incident management policies.
• Provide compliance with Information Security Policies.
• Write and review code following Secure Coding Guidelines.
• Perform as an incident responder according to the Incident Response Policy.
• Communicate assumptions and get clarification on tasks up front to minimize the need for rework.
• Occasionally assist other team members.
• Solicit feedback from others and give timely, helpful feedback to peers and managers.
• Write high-quality code with automated test coverage.
• Deliver work on well-communicated timelines.
• Collaborate with the cross-functional team to support project discovery, break down tasks, and help with estimation.
