We’re looking for a Full Stack C++ Software Engineer to join our Media Cloud Engineering team and help enhance the Vonage Video Platform, a WebRTC-based Communications PaaS. You’ll work on improving media communication features such as VoIP, video quality, and system reliability.

As part of the team, you’ll contribute to both new feature development and backend system improvements, with a strong focus on quality, fault tolerance, and performance. You’ll gain hands-on experience with real-time communications, and use data to help improve how we build and scale our services.

This is a great opportunity to grow your skills by working on large-scale, highly available systems alongside a team of experienced engineers who are passionate about cloud infrastructure, media technologies, and real-time communication.

Required Skills

• C/C++ coding skills, and a willingness to learn other languages.
• JavaScript, and experience with HTML5 APIs all across different browser engine APIs in general.
• A familiarity with Media Communications software technology. For example, codecs, WebRTC, streaming, VoIP, SIP, media protocols, QoS/QoE, media processing, and related industry open-source software.
• Experience working on backend and/or frontend software engineering.
• Excellent debugging and problem solving skills.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and platforms.
• Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, memory management, and concurrency.
  
  

Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial, though not mandatory:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or equivalent.
• Cloud technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker.
• CI/CD in Jenkins or similar tools.
• Familiarity with some of WebAssembly, WebGL, and/or WebGPU.
• Familiarity in API design and/or SDK development.
