The project and the team

We are seeking an experienced Backend/Network Software Engineer to add site-to-site VPN capabilities to our client’s EDGE CPE device, enhancing its security and connectivity. This project involves updating our existing CPE firmware (Linux yocto-based) and Linux networking stack. Additionally, you will update our cloud database and distributed config systems to enable VPN setup in our client’s Cloud Connect Dashboard.

What else you should know:

• The team consists of less than 15 people, including an architect, project manager, Python, UI developers, DevOps, and UX designer.
• We use SCRUM/Agile methodology.
• Our tech stack for the project includes: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, React.
• The client is based in the US.

We work on multiple interesting projects at the time, so it may happen that we’ll invite you to the interview for another project, if we see that your competencies and profile are well suited for it.

Your role

As a part of the project team, you will be responsible for:

• Design and implement site-to-site VPN solutions for EDGE CPE devices.
• Configure and manage networking on Linux-based devices (Netfilter, IPtables, Traffic Control, IPSec, VLANs, etc.).
• Update Cloud Connect back-end Postgres database with configuration that will be used to setup VPN across EDGE devices.

Do we have a match?

As a Senior engineer you must meet the following criteria:

• Excellent knowledge of Bash and Python
• Good knowledge of Linux systems
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL databases
• Strong experience with networking on Linux-based devices (IP/nf tables, IPSec, VLANs, etc.)
• Good knowledge of English (B2 level)

Beyond the criteria above, we would appreciate the nice-to-haves:

• Familiarity with yocto-based distros
• Good knowledge of SDN, NFV, OSPF/BGP
• Experience working with distributed systems
