Our client based in Brussels is looking for an experienced Network Engineer on a contract/freelance basis.

This contract is until end of December 2025 initially with long term extensions (could be a number of years).

Please note that due to the nature of the role and working in a secure environment, this role is full time on site in Brussels.

Candidates need to be eligible for EU Secret clearance.

Required skills and experience:

• Excellent knowledge of administration of Ethernet switching and routing systems in large networks (>1000 nodes) on UTP and fibre optic cabling
• Very good knowledge of F5 Application delivery controller, load balancing
• Excellent knowledge of network management, monitoring and debugging tools and Performance monitoring
• Very good knowledge of CISCO & Nexus application Switches
• Good knowledge of administration of Fortinet firewall systems, content inspection, firewall statistics and related security tools.
• Good knowledge of administration of CISCO firewall systems, content inspection, firewall statistics and related security tools.
• Good knowledge of SSL offload devices; (SSL acceleration, SSL VPN solutions)and High-grade encryption
• Very good knowledge of DHCP/DNS Infoblox, Trinzic 825 w/ Network Services One and Grid
• Good knowledge of UTP and fibre cabling systems
• Good knowledge of dial-in systems with authentication and encryption
• Experience in managing highly available environments and multiple site support
• Experience in disaster recovery management at network level
