Software Developer

Gexcon is looking to recruit a software developer that will play a vital role in the team to help maintain and further develop our consequence and risk analysis tools.

In addition to working on Gexcon’s analysis tools, you will also be part of our international team responsible for developing our modern web and API platform hosted on our Kubernetes cluster.

Some of the tools are primarily written in Delphi, and while experience in Delphi is a plus it is not mandatory. You have good understanding of how object-oriented code should be structured and this knowledge will then be easily transferable to Delphi.

The API platform exposes functionality in the tools mentioned above through APIs, but also various other services written in .NET and React/Next.js.

You

To be successful in this role, you must have the following attributes:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)

· Proficiency in object-oriented programming. Familiarity with Delphi, .NET and React/Next.js is a plus, but not essential.

· Proactive and take ownership of your responsibilities.

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

The role 

Key responsibilities are:

· Maintain and enhance Gexcon’s consequence and risk analysis tools

· Collaborate with the wider team to develop and improve Gexcon’s API framework, writing clean and efficient code, participating in code reviews, and troubleshooting applications to ensure they run smoothly.

· Contribute to best practices

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design new features

· Stay current with the latest industry trends and technologies
