Job Overview

We are hiring an innovative and experienced Payment Gateway Developer who can design, build, and maintain proprietary high-risk payment infrastructure specifically for the iGaming and betting industry. This role goes beyond third-party gateway integration—you’ll create full-scale, in-house payment processing systems optimized for the unique needs of real-money gaming platforms in India and global markets.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in UPI architecture, dynamic routing algorithms, OCR-based reconciliation systems, and real-time transaction handling. You’ll play a mission-critical role in building secure, scalable, and regulation-compliant payment systems from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

🛠️ Payment Gateway Development

• Architect and develop a custom payment gateway optimized for high-risk, high-frequency iGaming transactions
• Build support for UPI intent flows, QR-based payments, IMPS/NEFT, and crypto wallets
• Implement dynamic routing logic to distribute transactions across bank accounts or payment nodes based on user segments, limits, or load balancing
  
  

🔍 Reconciliation & Automation

• Develop OCR-based tools to auto-match UTR numbers from user-uploaded screenshots with back-end transaction logs
• Build automated systems for tracking, reconciling, and reporting failed or pending transactions
• Design internal dashboards for transaction status, settlement cycles, and issue tracking
  
  

🔒 Security & Compliance

• Implement encryption protocols, data masking, and tokenization for user financial data
• Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines, KYC/AML rules, and PCI-DSS standards
• Maintain audit trails and build tools for regulatory reporting across Indian jurisdictions
  
  

📊 Performance & Scalability

• Design the gateway to handle real-time payments at high scale (thousands of concurrent transactions)
• Optimize for speed, accuracy, and uptime across devices and game environments
• Build in redundancy, fallback mechanisms, and smart retry logic for transaction reliability
  
  

🤝 Collaboration & Deployment

• Work with game platform developers and DevOps teams to deploy the payment infrastructure
• Coordinate with legal/compliance teams on approval of flows and transaction governance
• Maintain detailed documentation for all systems, APIs, and modules
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–4 years of hands-on development experience in high-risk payment systems
• Strong programming skills in Node.js, Python, Java, or Golang
• Deep knowledge of UPI infrastructure, dynamic routing, and banking APIs
• Proficiency in designing real-time, scalable APIs for payment processing
• Experience building custom OCR systems or integrating third-party OCR for UTR reconciliation
• In-depth understanding of regulatory standards: RBI, PCI-DSS, KYC/AML
• Experience managing large-scale financial transactions for iGaming or betting platforms
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Built a proprietary gateway or payment switch for an iGaming or fintech company
• Experience with crypto transaction flows, wallet systems, or virtual account setups
• Familiarity with state-specific Indian gaming laws and how they affect transaction flows
• Strong understanding of fee management, chargeback handling, and fraud detection algorithms
• Comfortable with real-time monitoring systems and scalable logging infrastructure (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
