What is the opportunity?

As the first line of defense for operational risk, you will be responsible for assisting Personal Banking and Commercial Banking (PB&CB) business and functions in monitoring and mitigating IT/Cyber risks for both segments. You will be responsible for providing monitoring and oversight of all identified IT and Cyber Security findings & issues, including developing and maintaining processes to effectively assess IT Risk Issues and ensure the appropriateness of plans to mitigate IT risk. You will support the broader Operational risk ream and PB&CB leaders by providing advice and subject matter expertise regarding IT/Cyber risk management.

What will you do?

  • Design & create reports to allow effective & proactive oversight and monitoring of several IT/Cyber risk metrics
  • Work with the lines of business and broader operational risk team to develop robust action plans to address any IT/Cyber control gaps.
  • Proactively monitor PB & CB’s Business Managed Application compliance to the Enterprise standards.
  • Support the preparation of dashboards, metrics, and reports for senior management, risk committees, and regulators
  • Work with cybersecurity, and IT to gather risk insights.
  • Participates in applicable committees/working groups for applicable Cyber/IT risk related initiatives and drive the execution to meet Enterprise/Segment Compliance Standards.
  • Proactively monitors any changes in the Enterprise IT/Cyber standards & policies and identifies actions to be taken to ensure compliance.
  • Track and report cybersecurity incidents, vulnerabilities, and emerging threats.
  • Contribute and participate in scenario analysis exercises
  • Support post-incident reviews by providing data-driven insights.
  • Proactively manage the RBC Integrated IT portfolio management application for PB/CB ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data to ensure we have accurate and complete reporting.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Good understanding of the IT Risk space.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within the financial services industry, with proven experience working in a risk management capacity.
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills.
  • General knowledge of industry best practices
  • Strong organizational awareness, business acumen, and customer orientation.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills to analyze and resolve complex issues.

Nice to have:

  • Certification/Membership in a Risk/Control organization such as ISACA, RIMS, CISSP.
  • Advance proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, V-lookup), Word, PowerPoint and Power Bi skills
